Pilates is a method of exercise designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the whole body developed by Joseph Pilates over 80 years ago. Created by physiotherapists and exercise educationists "Modern Pilates" aims to bring his original methods into the 21st century using a more dynamic and contemporary approach.

The benefits are:

  • Strength and flexibility, particularly in the abdominals and back
  • Muscular and mental co-ordination
  • Improved posture, balance and body awareness
  • Increased lung capacity and circulation through deep healthy breathing
