CHILDREN'S DRAMA & SINGING LESSONS
Drama & singing lessons at Joze School of Dance are taught by Mark Allan. He is a well respected and experienced teacher and performer. Mark has been running drama, performance and singing workshops for the last ten years. Many of his past students are currently working in the West End, in TV and film, and in other fields of the entertainment industry.

PERFORMANCE
Performance classes cover singing, drama and simple movement, all at a fun level to help prepare children for the more advanced classes once they reach the minimum age. These classes will give basic knowledge with the maximum fun and confidence building.
DRAMA
Drama classes are for those who want to improve their skills or just have fun with performance. Classes will involve a mixture of script and improvisational work, focussing on characterisation, acting styles and voice and speech technique. Classes are informative and creative, but mainly enjoyable. All students will have an opportunity to enter performance festivals and will get a chance to perform at least once a year, regardless of age or ability.
SINGING
In singing classes students will learn correct technique. This includes breathing, vocal and stylistic training both through specific exercises and singing in a wide variety of styles. Each student will be given an opportunity to sing solo and within groups, in unison and in harmony.
ACTING FOR SINGERS
Acting for singers will focus on the development of the characters behind songs, looking at physicality and motivation as well as finding a voice for the character. Students taking this class must be able to sing to a required standard.

ADULT SINGING LESSONS
Adult singing lessons at Joze School of Dance are taught by Keely Hodgson, (M.Mus. Durham), a member of the Natural Voice Practitioner’s Network. Sessions include physical and vocal warm-ups and build on a varied repertoire including rounds, community songs, African songs, Gospel, Blues and Jazz.
